·         To raise the awareness of National Council on Disability Affairs about the IL movement

·         To introduce the philosophy of IL, the services of IL Centers

Venue:                  Norfil Bldg., Quezon City

Outcome:              Present from the orientation seminar showed interest in the presentation made by LHILC. Misunderstanding about the concept of independent living was clarified during the open forum.

Evaluation:           This activity was made possible thru the support of JICA NHE Project team. Many people (in this case, the government) do not understand the concept of living independently, the programs and services to empower persons with disabilities to live independently in the community. The orientation seminar is a very important activity to raise the awareness of the people from the government about the IL movement.
